Tiger Memon

Update: Salman Khan has deleted his previous tweets and aplogised for creating misunderstanding. He has stated that he didn’t wish to call Yakub Menon innocent and that he wanted Tiger Memon to be hanged. “I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally. I have not said or implied that Yakub Memon is innocent. I have complete faith in the judicial system of our country,” he tweeted.

Background: Joining the growing chorus in support of Yakub Memon, who has been sentenced to death in 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had made number of tweets and said Yakub is paying for the bills of his brother Tiger Memon. “Hand Tiger, not his brother,” he tweeted late Saturday night. Salman Khan is the first Bollywood superstar to come out so strongly in defence of Yakub Memon.
Salman Khan has also requested Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to find out if Tiger Memon is hiding in his country. “Please inform us if he is in your nation,” Salman Khan tweeted. Yakub is currently scheduled to be executed by hanging on 30 July 2015. Now this will surely flare up discussion on Yakub’s hanging and put the focus on Tiger Memon, one of the key suspects in the Mumbai bomb blast case.
